New Zealand – Some positive news

Published: 13 Jan, 2021

Good, positive news on most fronts is coming out of New Zealand. Not only are there reported to be zero coronavirus cases, but life has returned to near normal for most. Only the lack of tourists and the revenue they bring to the country appears to be the downside. Slaughters have picked up, as the restaurant trade picks up, along with more people eating out during the warmer months ahead. There is reported to be more demand across all weight ranges of bovine, with some sharp price rises, particularly for the heavier weight material. There has even been some increased demand for calfskins, although for now, the prices are static. And to cap off a really positive report, those dealing in lambskins report that there are signs of some early improvement in the trade.
