Did you hear the one about the misinformed politician?

Published: 15 May, 2019

Sometimes stories come in that are so odd, you just know they have to be true.

On Monday, Israeli politician MK Miki Heimowitz of the blue and white party, turned to Yuli Edelstein, speaker of the house, stating that her seat, which if lined with leather, be changed for one that is not. Her request was turned down. It turns out that this is not the first time such a request has been made. Each time the request has been turned down. MK Miki Heimowitz had thought her chair was covered in cow hide, but on examination it was found that the chair was covered in deer skin. She stated that the reason for not wanting to sit on the chair was so that she could make a stand for animal cruelty and exploitation.

While many find this story odd and somewhat bizarre it does highlight a major problem the leather industry is coming under: Ignorance. Unless there are further campagnas to promote leather as the by-product that it is, then people such as Miki Heimowitz will be the only voices to be heard or should that be herd!
